Job Description

    Frank Phillips College is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Adjunct CDL Instructor at the Borger Campus to demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline, and make continuous efforts to improve instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.  The candidate should teach courses as assigned during fall, spring, and/or summer with appropriate rigor, expectations, and assessment.  Will manage classroom, discipline, and pace in an organized environment for student success. Provides assessment documents to the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs as required and on time. The ideal candidate should participate in the evaluation process for self, department, and college as well as be familiar with and adhere to all policies and procedures of FPC.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or GED required; Associates of Applied Science or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in related field.
  3. Class A CDL Required; CDL Instructor Certification, State of Texas preferred.
  4. Sufficient knowledge for position effectiveness.

Frank Phillips College is searching for a qualified individual who will teach the art and skill of welding through various means, including hands-on, verbal communication, pictures, etc.  A qualified candidate must be able to pass a craft welding test and teach to that level in all commonly used industrial processes, including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, oxy-fuel welding, brazing, and cutting, along with the craft-level use and maintenance of carbon arc gouging, plasma cutting, welding, and associated equipment.

Certificate or Associate's Degree in welding from an accredited college and a minimum of three years of industrial welding experience.  A valid driver's license is required.

Frank Phillips College is in constant search of qualified instructors for all credit and non-credit curriculum offerings. Employment will be determined by instructor qualifications and student demand. Summer, fall, or spring evenings or weekend opportunities available. Retirees are encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Specific areas most needed that require a Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours are in the following fields: Biology, Communications, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geology, Government, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Spanish.
