TSIA2 (Texas State Initiative Assessment)
Students are required to take TSIA2 placement tests in math and ELAR (reading and writing) before registering for classes.* The results of these placement tests will be used by college advisors when creating class schedules for students.
Before Testing: Prior to taking TSIA2 assessments, students must complete the pre-assessment activity (PAA). To access the PAA, go to www.tsipreview.com and choose Frank Phillips College from the dropdown menu. This pre-assessment activity should be completed at home prior to testing.
Testing Schedules: TSIA2 group testing is offered in January and August. No appointment is necessary on group testing days. To schedule a testing session outside of the group testing schedule, call 806-457-4277.
Cost: The cost is $10 per subject, so the total cost is $20. Testing fees may be paid with cash, debit card, or credit card. Retests are the same price.
- Bring a non-expired photo ID
- No cell phones are allowed
- Tests are not timed, but allow approximately two hours per subject
*Certain exemption criteria for TSI placement testing is available in the FPC catalog found here: College Catalog
