Plan well in advance to avoid paying a late registration fee.  On testing day, be sure to bring your photo ID and your ACT admission ticket.

TSIA2 (Texas State Initiative Assessment)

Students are required to take TSIA2 placement tests in math and ELAR (reading and writing) before registering for classes.* The results of these placement tests will be used by college advisors when creating class schedules for students.

Before Testing: Prior to taking TSIA2 assessments, students must complete the pre-assessment activity (PAA).  To access the PAA, click the "TSIA2 Pre-Assessment Activity" button above and choose Frank Phillips College from the dropdown menu.  This pre-assessment activity should be completed at home prior to testing.

Testing Schedules: TSIA2 group testing is offered in January and August.  No appointment is necessary on group testing days.  To schedule a testing session outside of the group testing schedule, call 806-457-4277.

Cost: The cost is $10 per subject, so the total cost is $20.  Testing fees may be paid with cash, debit card, or credit card.  Retests are the same price.

Testing Day:

  • Bring a non-expired photo ID
  • No cell phones are allowed
  • Tests are not timed, but allow approximately two hours per subject

*Certain exemption criteria for TSI placement testing is available in the FPC catalog found here: College Catalog
