Rahll Campus Scholarships
The purpose of the Louise and Gene Rahll Scholarship Program is to provide financial help to students or residents of Dallam or Hartley County, who seek to improve their lives through post-secondary education or vocational training.
The scholarship funds may only be used for tuition and fees at Frank Phillips College (FPC). These funds will be administrated by the Dalhart Education Foundation (DEF) directly to FPC. DEF will make their decisions based on an applicant’s financial need, ability to complete courses, and any other qualification that the Board may apply at their discretion.
Recipients must attend and pass all classes. Future awards will be based on the successful completion of the previous semester. Louise and Gene Rahll Scholarship Funds will not be available to retake failed or dropped courses. Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis. Students wishing to receive funds for Dual-Credit (DC) classes will be required to take at least one regular non-DC college course through FPC every semester. Students should register early so that funds can be applied to their account in a timely manner. Funds may not be available for students who register late.
The Scholarship Board has the final authority in the selection of recipients and the amount awarded to each recipient.
A scholarship fund has been established in memory of Brendan Torres, Dalhart Firefighter and Frank Phillips College student who passed away on October 4, 2022, serving others in the line of duty. All his life Brendan Torres was like a sponge, soaking up life's many duties, jobs, and what made them unique. If he could, he would have done them all! His zest for a purpose in life showed from day one and his need to be helpful was just as strong! An advocate for anyone big or small is what made him special and his drive to be greater is what we honor in this scholarship called "Brendan’s Blessing.” Honoring those special few that dare to dream but lack the resources to bring those dreams to fruition!
The purpose of Brendan’s Blessing is to provide financial help to students or residents of Dallam or Hartley County, who seek to improve their lives through post-secondary education or vocational training. Those seeking vocational training will have priority consideration for Brendan’s Scholarship.
