Fun Before Finals offers on-campus fun

While students, faculty, and staff get ready for the end of semester, FPC campus organizations are working on planning a fun-filled evening for the college community.
Fun Before Finals is set to take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the FPC Borger campus between the ARC/TRiO building and the BCAC. Burgers and hotdogs, games, a DJ, Ag Olympics, and the annual Phi Theta Kappa kickball game are just some of the events scheduled to take place.
“Students connecting with friends before they become complete book-dwellers for the next few weeks helps cement relationships,” said Student Government Association co-adviser Lydia Howell. “Returning freshmen can choose organizations to join for next year which boosts morale and looks good on college applications for universities.”
The organizers hope that students, faculty and staff take the opportunity to have a good time together.
“Fun Before Finals is a way for students and faculty to enjoy the last bit of the semester,” SGA president Elena Perez said. “By working with several different organizations, everyone can come together to have an amazing time.”
The PTK faculty/student kickball game, which is in its fourth year, will start off the festivities.
“We think this would be a good way to have fun with faculty, staff, and students. It will be a way to show our appreciation of the faculty/staff while getting away from the normal routine,” said PTK adviser Krista Wilson.
Students and faculty do not need to sign up prior to the event. Kickball teams will be formed from the people who come to participate.
Perez said she encourages everyone to come out and hopes the event becomes an annual happening.
“The more student activities the better, because it gives students and faculty time to relieve stress,” she said.
