Frank Phillips College is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Director of the Safety Center.  Duties include development of instructional programs associated with workforce grants and safety training programs, supervision and monitoring of all functions and processes of the Frank Phillips College Safety Training Center, development and maintenance of relationships with local employers to develop training opportunities and commitments associated with those relationships, coordination of advisory committees and workforce training meetings, serve on committees and councils at FPC and in the community, maintaining professional and technical knowledge in safety training, and compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional and/or industry experience will be considered; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products; ability to meet both college and local industry requirements of a background check and drug test, as a condition of employment.

Preferred: Managerial and/or supervisory experience; ability to lead and direct trainings and presentations; be a team player with strong communication skills; recognized safety/industry certifications a plus; a working knowledge of OSHA, CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), and Labor Laws; a background in Heavy Equipment; some type of past industry working experience.
