Frank Phillips College is currently seeking a qualified individual who will teach the art and skill of welding through various means, including hands-on, verbal communication, pictures, etc.  A qualified candidate must be able to pass a craft welding test and teach to that level in all commonly used industrial processes, including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, oxy-fuel welding, brazing, and cutting, along with the craft-level use and maintenance of carbon arc gouging, plasma cutting, welding, and associated equipment. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate or Associate's Degree in welding from an accredited college and a minimum of three years of industrial welding experience.

Safety and Health Trainer

DESCRIPTION

Frank Phillips College Safety Center is looking for a part-time with the possibility of full-time safety trainer that has competency in safety training. The safety trainer will be expected to provide employees with the knowledge and skills to perform work safely for contractors, industry employees, and college employees. The safety trainer will work under the guidance of the Safety Center Director and will help provide effective workplace safety and health training topics both in the classroom and field environments.

Most of the safety trainer's time will be spent preparing for and performing safety orientation training courses to include new hires and current employees that have not been trained, need refresher or updated training. In addition to classroom teaching, the safety trainer will be expected to teach employees in the field for topics such as forklift and/or aerial lift training and any other training required by specific customers.

This role requires a motivated self-starter that can adapt to constantly changing rules and regulations as well as are our customers' needs and requests. Safety knowledge and excellent communication are must-have skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Background in Safety in either General Industry or Construction.
Equipment training such as Forklift/Aerial Lift Experience
Driver's License (Required) 
High school diploma or GED

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMAND

Light to medium (lift 50 lbs)
Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to outside.

Frank Phillips College is in constant search of qualified instructors for all credit and non-credit curriculum offerings. Employment will be determined by instructor qualifications and student demand. Summer, fall, or spring evenings or weekend opportunities available. Retirees are encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Specific areas most needed that require a Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours are in the following fields: Biology, Communications, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geology, Government, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Spanish.
