Lady Plainsmen Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Western Oklahoma State College - added 2/12/2018

The Lady Plainsmen ran off with the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Western Oklahoma State College on Friday. The game was tied at three with FPC batting in the bottom of the fifth when Shelby Wiley singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. FPC collected eight hits and Western Oklahoma State College had nine in the high-scoring affair. FPC captured the lead in the first inning. Kymbree Ovalle singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. In the top of the fourth inning, Western Oklahoma State College tied things up at three with a solo homer. Anndrea Cortez earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for FPC. She surrendered six runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out seven. FPC tallied eight hits.
