FPC Rodeo Representing at the OC College Rodeo
 
FPC Rodeo had a great weekend to kick off our first rodeo of the season. The Men's team ended 7th out of the 17 total colleges 5 universities & 12 junior colleges competing at the Odessa College Rodeo February 23-25. Sophomore Trey Hall from Rolla, KS representing in the calf-roping placed 3rd in the long round, 4th in the short round, & finished 4th in the combined aggregate out of 91 contestant entries. Freshman Jamie Haney from Odessa, FL representing in the steer-wrestling finished 7th in the long round, 4th in the short round, and 4th in the average out of 59 contestant entries. Jamie Haney also made the final round in the calf roping placing 9th in the long round, 9th in the short round, and 9th in the average out of 91 contestant entries. Freshman Bryce Batterton from Eads, CO also made the top 10 in the steer-wrestling, but had a hard go of it in the short round. Freshman Sierra Smith from Winterset, IA representing in the goat-tying placed 7th in the long round, made a great run in the short round, but the goat failed to stay tied for the full allotted time and resulted with a no time. Sierra Smith finished 7th in the average. Many other FPC athletes had great runs this weekend, but fell short of the top 10. Freshman Cordell Davenport from Magnolia, TX finished just out of the top 10 final round placing 11th in the steer-wrestling. Fellow Freshman, Zach Hanko from Oakdale, CA also finished 11th, just short of the final round, in the Bareback riding. Freshman Kassidy Martin from Sublette, KS had a great run on a hard running calf placing 24th in the women's breakaway roping out of 138 contestant entries.
