FPC Rodeo takes Championship at Sul Ross State University - added 11/28/2016
Rodriguez WINS @ University Goat Tying
FPC Rodeo Athlete Wins Big at Sul Ross State University The following weekend of September 22nd the team traveled to Alpine, Texas for a rodeo hosted by Sul Ross University. Rodriguez takes her performance from ENMU and only improves to go on and win the goat tying at the 2016 Sul Ross rodeo. Garrett Jones placed 4th in the Championship round of bull riding out of 43. Freshman team of Baylee Paul and Trent Vernon made it to the short round of top 10 out of 119 teams in the team roping. The women’s team placed 4th out of 17 teams in the Southwest region including 5 universities while competing against other junior, senior, and graduate students. Other highlights from the weekend included Freshman Kassidy Martin who finished 11th out of 148 breakaway ropers and Baylee Paul who finished 24th out of 148 breakaway ropers. Paul also finished 20th out of 76 goat tyers alongside Freshman Sierra Smith who also finished 20th in goat tying. Freshman Jamie Haney finished 15th out of 99 calf ropers.
